How to add licenses to a License Server ?

Foreword


When you use Network License mode, it is necessary to add licenses to a license server. 

This is done with a program named License Manager Administration, also known as WlmAdmin.



Prerequisites 

  • You have installed the Sentinel License Manager
  • You have prepared WlmAdmin program on a computer that has network access to the license server.
    The license server itself is the simplest choice
  • You have received the License file (usually a .lic file)


SentinelRMS x.y.z-WlmAdmin package can be downloaded from the  Download page


Procedure 


From the License Server or from any computer that has access to the License Server:


Start WlmAdmin

Find the server
You can
  1. scan the subnet
  2. add it in the watchlist
Select the server and click on "Add feature"
Choose the license file and validate
A confirmation message should be displayed, and the licenses should be visible in the left pane.
