How to backup and restore licence server configuration

Foreword

When you use Network License mode, it might be necessary to quickly back up and restore the license server configuration. 

Prerequisites

• You have installed the license server.
• You have access to the license server with the Remote Desktop app.

Back up the current configuration

License server configuration is saved in a text file named "lservrc"

Its default location is

%CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\Thales\Sentinel RMS License Manager\WinNT

%CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS License Manager\WinNT

To back up the configuration, even with users connected, just copy the file

To restore the configuration 

1. Replace the license configuration file with the one previously saved. 
2. Restart Sentinel LM service

This can be done even with user connected
