Foreword


When you use Network License mode, it might be necessary to backup and restore quicky the licence server configuration. 


Prerequisites

  • You have installed the License Server
  • You have access to the License Server with Remote Desktop App


Backup the current configuration

License server configuration is saved in a text file names lservrc

Its default location is: 

  • Sentinel RMS 10.1: %CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\Thales\Sentinel RMS License
  • Sentinel RMS 9.6:  %CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS License Manager\WinNT



To backup the configuration, even with users connected, just copy the file

 

Restore the configuration 

To restore the configuration 

  1. Replace licence configuration file with the one previously saved 
  2. Restart Sentinel LM service

This can be done even with user connected
