Identification number detection problem

Modified on Tue, 7 Apr at 5:20 PM

NB: This article applied only to version V14 and before.

Foreword

RCS application uses Sentinel SuperPro key as Hardware Dongle.

It embeds an identification number that should be readable by RCS applications.

It might happen that the Hardware Dongle identification number cannot be read by the application.

In that case, the second field of the "License registration" dialog box will be left empty.

This issue might come from your system or from the hardware dongle itself.

This article will give you guidelines to clarify the origin of the problem.

Check Sentinel System Driver installation

First, remember that Sentinel System Drivers should be installed to let the application read that identification number.

If not, please install it.

If it is already installed, please check you have the latest available version installed.

If not, please upgrade.

See Hardware dongle download page.

Test your configuration with Sentinel Advanced Medic

You can test your system configuration with Sentinel Superpro Medic tool.

It will check which driver is installed and if a hardware dongle is detected.

See Hardware dongle download page.

In any case, it is recommended to make the same tests on another computer to confirm the diagnosis.

Conclusion

If, on both computers,

  • Sentinel USB driver is installed and checked
  • BUT SuperPro Key is not found.
Please contact us, creating a support ticket for example.
